The voyage was scheduled to start in 2020, to mark the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the original Mayflower, which took settlers from England to North America. On June 14th, 2022, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared The Mayflower 400 as “World's first artificial intelligence managed vessel to sail on a transatlantic voyage”.
