Unlike conventional portable speakers that sit beside a smartphone, this model is designed to become physically attached to it. A magnetic connection holds the speaker against the back of the phone, while an integrated Hall sensor detects when the two devices connect. The speaker powers on automatically when attached and switches off when removed, eliminating the need to repeatedly operate a power button or manually initiate the connection.

The more practical part of the design is its stand function. The speaker’s base supports the phone at a viewing angle, allowing it to remain upright on a desk or other flat surface. This provides a hands-free position for watching videos while also placing the speaker closer to the user than the phone’s built-in audio system.

The audio hardware is deliberately compact. A 1.5-inch full-range driver produces 3W of output and covers a frequency range from 200Hz to 20kHz. Rather than competing with larger tabletop Bluetooth speakers, the system is aimed at close-range listening where the main alternative is the smartphone’s own speaker.

Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.0, with support for AAC and SBC codecs. Once paired, the connection can generally resume automatically when the speaker is attached to the phone. A 650mAh battery powers the speaker independently, avoiding direct reliance on the smartphone’s battery for audio playback.

A ring of RGB lighting around the base adds a visual element by synchronizing its colors with the audio being played. The lighting can make the speaker more noticeable in low-light environments while also giving the otherwise functional stand a more distinctive appearance.

The concept is straightforward: instead of using a separate object to prop up a phone and another device to improve its sound, Xiaomi combines both functions into one magnetic accessory. For everyday viewing, listening and hands-free use, the result is a compact approach to a pair of common smartphone needs.
