At the front is a 3.92-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 1240 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and brightness reaching 560 nits. The touchscreen supports multi-touch input and is protected by a tempered glass cover, providing both durability and a premium feel.

A key feature of the device is its BBQ20 QWERTY keyboard, inspired by the layout of classic BlackBerry smartphones. The keyboard includes an integrated trackpad, allowing users to navigate a full Linux desktop environment without relying on external peripherals. Additional controls include side-mounted rotary encoders and five programmable buttons for customized workflows.

The Pocket-CM5 is powered by a 5,000 mAh lithium-polymer battery and offers a versatile selection of connectivity options, including USB Type-A and Type-C ports. It also supports both full-size HDMI and micro-HDMI outputs, enabling connection to external displays when a larger workspace is required.
One particularly practical capability is its USB-HID mode. When connected to another computer or server, the built-in keyboard and trackpad can function as an independent USB input device. This feature makes the Pocket-CM5 a useful tool for system administrators and IT professionals who frequently work with servers and networking equipment.

The device supports a complete Linux operating system and can be equipped with NVMe SSD storage in 2230 or 2242 formats. Stereo speakers, a microphone, and optional camera support further expand its functionality beyond that of a typical handheld project.
