Leica Cine Compact 1 brings premium 4k laser projection to home entertainment

04-06-2026

(worldkings.org) Leica has expanded its smart projector lineup with the introduction of the Cine Compact 1, a new 4K laser projector that combines the company’s optical expertise with modern streaming and home entertainment features. Building on Leica’s growing presence in the projection market, the device is designed to deliver high-quality visuals while maintaining the brand’s distinctive design philosophy.

The Cine Compact 1 features a minimalist aluminum unibody construction inspired by Bauhaus design principles. At the front sits a Summicron zoom lens incorporating aspherical optical elements, reflecting Leica’s long-standing focus on premium imaging technology. While relatively compact compared to many home theater projectors, the unit is designed as a substantial centerpiece for dedicated entertainment spaces.

Image projection is powered by a triple-laser light source paired with a 0.47-inch DMD chip, producing 4K Ultra HD resolution and brightness of up to 1,700 lumens. The projector can display images up to 220 inches diagonally and covers 100 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut, enabling rich color reproduction across a wide range of content.

To further enhance image quality, Leica includes support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG formats. The company’s proprietary image optimization technology is designed to maintain consistent picture performance regardless of screen size or installation environment.

Ease of setup is another key focus. The projector incorporates autofocus, automatic keystone correction, and intelligent screen resizing functions. An integrated gimbal base allows flexible image positioning in both horizontal and vertical directions, reducing the need for complicated installation adjustments.

Running on the VIDAA operating system, the Cine Compact 1 provides direct access to popular streaming services and supports wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi 6. Compatibility with Apple AirPlay and HomeKit further expands integration options within modern smart-home ecosystems. Wired connectivity is available through an HDMI 2.1 port with eARC support, while a dedicated gaming mode offers input latency below 20 milliseconds.

Audio is handled by an integrated 20-watt stereo speaker system with support for Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Virtual, creating a more immersive viewing experience without requiring external speakers.

By combining advanced laser projection technology, premium optics, and smart entertainment features, the Leica Cine Compact 1 represents the company’s latest effort to bring its imaging heritage into the rapidly evolving home cinema market.
