Heau’s patented system is claimed to be the world’s first shower with instant hot water. It reduces water waste while still offering immediate comfort by providing hot water as soon as the shower is turned on. Typically, people wait about a minute for the water to reach a comfortable temperature. Heau’s solution involves a two-compartment system that stores heat from previous showers, so hot water is available for the next use.

The system stores hot water at the end of a shower in a vacuum chamber, where it remains hot for up to three days due to special insulation. When the next shower begins, the system detects cold water and redirects it to the left compartment, applying pressure via a flexible membrane. The water is then sent to the mixing valve, delivering instant hot water. Once the pipes are warm, the system stops the hot water inlet and recharges by transferring water to the right compartment.

Installation is similar to the water storage setup for hanging toilets, and the system is compatible with any shower type. Currently in the startup phase, Heau aims to have the system available by 2025.
