The Krono features a 6.13-inch paper-like E Ink display and resembles many compact Android e-readers currently on the market. Its standout feature is the knurled Smart Dial positioned along the side of the device, allowing users to scroll through ebooks, web pages, and apps with a rotating wheel instead of repeated screen taps.

The physical control is designed to sit comfortably under the user’s index finger while holding the device, making page turning feel more tactile and precise. The Smart Dial also includes haptic feedback and works across multiple Android reading platforms, including Kindle, Kobo Books, Google Play Books, and web browsers.

Beyond scrolling, the dial doubles as a multifunction button. Users can refresh the E Ink display to reduce ghosting, adjust brightness levels, or activate the built-in AI assistant through different press actions. A double press launches DuRoBo AI for chatbot-style interactions, while a long press starts voice recording.

That recording feature is one of Krono’s more unusual additions. Voice notes can be transcribed and automatically summarized, making the device useful not only for reading but also for capturing ideas, reminders, research notes, or reactions while reading books and documents.

The Krono runs full Android 15, allowing access to most apps through the Google Play Store. Internally, it uses an octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, enough for large ebook collections, podcasts, audiobooks, and recordings.

Although the device is not intended for video playback due to the limitations of E Ink technology, DuRoBo includes a higher refresh-rate mode to improve interface responsiveness and navigation smoothness.

Battery life is supported by a 3,950mAh battery that the company says can last several days on a single charge. With its focus on tactile controls, quick note capture, and one-handed usability, the Krono presents a different vision for what a modern E Ink reader can become beyond simple digital book consumption.
