The biggest upgrade on the Osmo Mobile 8P is the removable touchscreen accessory called the FrameTap Remote. Attached magnetically to the handle, the display mirrors the live view from the smartphone camera. Users can detach it and position it separately, making it much easier to frame selfies, monitor shots remotely, or direct solo recordings without repeatedly checking the phone itself.

The FrameTap Remote also includes physical controls such as a joystick, zoom adjustment, and recording buttons. This allows users to control the gimbal’s movement and start filming directly from the remote display.
