Divoom Dipow 35W turns a compact GAN charger into a customizable pixel display

(worldkings.org) Wall chargers rarely get much attention. Divoom's Dipow 35W is designed to change that by turning a normally forgettable charging brick into a small desk accessory with its own visual identity. Shaped like a miniature retro diving helmet, the charger combines a 64 × 64-pixel LED display with a 35W GaN charging system in a body small enough to carry anywhere.

Measuring 44.3 × 42.3 × 41.3 mm and weighing 86 g, the Dipow has rounded proportions that give it a more object-like appearance than a conventional USB-C charger. The diving-helmet-inspired housing also serves a practical purpose: when plugged into an outlet, it keeps the pixel display facing outward so the animated panel remains visible.

The display can be customized through the Divoom app. Users can choose from more than 1,000 community-created pixel designs, create their own artwork or cycle through 18 different clock faces throughout the day. The screen only lights up while the charger is connected to power, keeping its role closer to a decorative accessory than a permanently active display.

The charging hardware remains the more important part of the device. Its single USB-C port provides up to 35W of output and uses GaN technology to maintain a compact form factor. According to Divoom's own testing, the charger can bring an iPhone 15 Pro Max to 56% in 30 minutes. Protection systems are built in to guard against overheating, overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuits.

For portability, the charger's prongs fold through 90 degrees and are covered by a protective silicone boot. The arrangement keeps the unit relatively compact inside a bag while protecting the plug during transport.

What makes the Dipow different is therefore not a new charging standard, but the way it adds a visual layer to an otherwise purely functional accessory. The 35W output makes it a conventional fast charger at heart, while the customizable pixel display gives it a reason to remain visible.

Rather than hiding another black charging brick behind a monitor or under a desk, Divoom turns the charger itself into a small piece of customizable desk technology.
