Rear cameras on modern smartphones generally deliver better image quality than front-facing cameras, but recording with them often makes framing difficult. The Cardon V1 Pro addresses this challenge by providing a secondary display that connects directly to the phone through a USB-C connection, giving users a live preview while filming.

Measuring just 8.8 × 6 × 1 cm (3.46 × 2.41 × 0.39 in), the monitor is compact enough to fit easily into a pocket while remaining large enough for comfortable framing. It attaches magnetically to the back of compatible smartphones, making setup quick and straightforward.
The display offers four adjustable brightness levels with a maximum brightness of 450 nits. According to Cardon, this is sufficient for viewing the image clearly even under bright outdoor lighting.

The V1 Pro package also includes a wireless remote control and a compact magnetic microphone that attaches securely to clothing. The company states that the remote operates at distances of up to 15 m (49 ft) in urban or indoor environments and up to 200 m (650 ft) in open areas without requiring Bluetooth pairing, allowing immediate operation.
Compatibility extends to recent Android smartphones and iPhone 15 series devices and newer, excluding the iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air. The monitor requires only a USB-C connection with DisplayPort Alt Mode support and works without additional apps or subscription services.

The device supports video monitoring for recording at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second on compatible iPhones, and up to 8K at 40 fps on supported Android phones. A one-touch mirror mode provides a more natural preview, while audio latency is rated at just 26 milliseconds.
Instead of using an internal battery, the V1 Pro draws power directly from the connected smartphone. To offset that power consumption, it includes a secondary USB-C port for pass-through charging, enabling users to recharge their phone from a power bank while continuing to record.

Combining a compact display, wireless remote, magnetic microphone, and plug-and-play operation, the Cardon V1 Pro offers a practical solution for creators who want to take advantage of their smartphone's rear camera without sacrificing accurate framing or mobility.
