Rather than being a standalone device, AquaSense X is built as an ecosystem consisting of the robotic pool cleaner and the AstroRinse cleaning station. Once the robot completes its cleaning task, it docks at the station, where a rotating high-pressure nozzle automatically washes the filter basket. Collected debris is flushed into a sealed 22-liter waste container, while the basket opens from the bottom to help ensure debris is fully removed. The entire cleaning process takes approximately three minutes.

After the filter has been cleaned, the robot immediately begins charging, preparing itself for the next cleaning session without additional user input. According to Beatbot, the station's 22-liter debris container can typically support around two months of operation before requiring emptying.

The AquaSense X is equipped with HybridSense AI Vision, which combines an AI camera with infrared and ultrasonic sensors. The system can recognize 40 different types of debris, doubling the recognition capability of the previous generation while expanding detection from the pool floor to the water surface.

The robot is designed to clean multiple areas in a single operation, including the water surface, pool floor, walls, waterline, shallow entry steps, and tanning ledges without changing attachments. Powered by 11 motors and a submarine-inspired propulsion system, it transitions smoothly between floating and underwater operation. Dual downward-facing ultrasonic sensors also detect platform edges to prevent accidental falls.

During cleaning, AquaSense X automatically dispenses AquaRefine 3-in-1 Clarifying Agent, a water treatment solution made from recycled crab shells that removes fine particles, oils, and residue. A single 300 mL refill is capable of treating up to 99,000 gallons of water.

The system also supports voice control through Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Siri, allowing users to start or stop cleaning, monitor battery status, enable child lock, and receive completion notifications. Through the Beatbot app, owners can schedule cleaning sessions, manage pool maps, select cleaning modes, and receive over-the-air software updates, making AquaSense X a highly automated solution for modern pool maintenance.
