The activity was conducted as part of the launch of the Innovative School for Food Security Program (SIKAP), an initiative designed to strengthen food security education and environmental awareness among younger generations. The program was led directly by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

According to verified figures, a total of 110,481 teachers and students participated in the simultaneous planting and fish seed stocking activities. The extraordinary scale of participation enabled the event to earn recognition from MURI as a significant achievement in the fields of education and community development.
The program included the cultivation of a wide variety of productive plants, such as vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants, spices, root crops, and staple food crops. In addition, several fish farming initiatives were introduced through the stocking of fish seeds in suitable aquatic environments.
Organizers stated that the initiative was intended not only to establish school gardens and small-scale production projects but also to provide students with practical learning experiences related to agriculture, environmental conservation, and food security. Through direct participation, students gained a better understanding of food production processes and the importance of sustainable resource management.
The East Java provincial government emphasized that the movement was far more than a ceremonial event. It represented a concrete effort to educate younger generations about food sovereignty, self-sufficiency in food production, and environmental stewardship.
MURI noted that the achievement highlighted the growing role of educational institutions in promoting sustainable development while demonstrating the power of collective community action in supporting long-term food security goals.
