A total of 22,666 participants simultaneously enjoyed coffee using bamboo cups across 17 districts throughout Mamasa Regency. The activity brought the local community together in a celebration that combined the national anniversary with Mamasa's traditional culture and coffee heritage.

The event carried significance beyond the Independence Day celebration. It served as an expression of gratitude and pride following the issuance of Geographical Indication (GI) certification for Mamasa coffee.
Following the Independence Day flag-raising ceremony on August 17, 2026, GI certificates were presented for Mamasa Arabica coffee and Mamasa Robusta coffee. The certification recognizes the geographical origin and distinctive characteristics associated with these coffee products from Mamasa.
The use of the traditional suke bamboo cup also connected Mamasa's coffee products with local cultural practices. Having thousands of people drink coffee from bamboo cups at the same time created a distinctive communal celebration and highlighted the relationship between local coffee and cultural heritage.
With 22,666 people simultaneously drinking coffee from traditional suke bamboo cups across 17 districts on August 17, 2026, the event earned recognition from MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) as the largest simultaneous coffee drinking event using bamboo cups. The achievement became a notable highlight of Mamasa's 81st Independence Day celebrations and reflected the community's pride in its local coffee heritage.
