All of 19 years old, Tushar Lakhanpal is a little different than the other children of his age. Currently a Class 12 student at Delhi's DPS Vasant Kunj, Tushar has an unusual fascination--a fascination that has over the years turned into a passion.
With a collection of over 19,500 pencils, Tushar Lakhanpal has been collecting pencils since he was 3, and has now registered his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The London-based office of the Guinness World Records has approved the entry after a count as per its strict norms, including full video recording, still photography and certification by a representative of a pencil manufacturing company, a government official and a senior person from public life.
According to Tushar, the bug bit him when he got hooked to the popular cartoon Oswald, in which the character, Henry, and his habit of collecting spoons inspired him greatly.
