Monywa is the largest reclining Buddha Statue in the world. Just east of the Monywa city in Myanmar is the Po Khaung Taung, a range of hills where you can see the Monywa Buddha. This colossal figure measures 90 meters (300feet) long and 20 meters high .The head alone is 60 feet high. The statue dressed in a golden robe resting on a golden pedestal portrays the Buddha on the eve of death and entering into Nirvana. The statue completed in 1991 is hollow; visitors can walk through the interior in which 9,000 small Buddha images are on display.
