World's Largest Buddhist Flag made of flowers.

Resulting from the diligent work of 20 skilled artists, the Buddhist Flag measures 15 x 4 metres to represent the birthday of Gautama Buddha (15th April), the colours of the 5 flowers represent fraternity among Buddhists on the 5 continents. The flag was made from 255,800 flowers (symbolising the year 2558 in the Buddhist Calendar) made up of daisies, orchids, pingpongs, and dianthuses.

The flag was crafted on a 3D design model to accentuate its vividness and fine details and is hung over a base which weighs more than one metric ton and stands 90 centimeters tall. The back of the flag features several lively Buddhist-themed images also made of real flowers. The flag and its base weigh over six tons in total.

This flag was made on the occasion of the UN’s 2014 Vesak Day celebrated in NinhBinhProvince on 5th May, 2014.
