"TAM TRA DIEU BAO" COLLECTION - THE "30-YEAR JOURNEY OF LOVING TEA AND TEAPOTS" ACHIEVEMENT
Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam has spent over 30 years meticulously selecting and collecting every single artifact in the "Tam Tra Dieu Bao" collection. The collection includes 1000 teapots and mugs with several seductive designs, different hues, and painstaking decorative details that are meticulously manufactured of several rare clay varieties of the Yixing village, such as Zi sha, Zhu sha, Duan ni, and others.
Yixing teapots are famous for their capacity to absorb trace amounts of brewed tea tastes and minerals into the teapot with each brewing. These accumulate over time, giving each Yixing teapot its own distinct internal coating that flavors and colors future brewings.
Each Yixing teapot was meticulously handcrafted in shape, pattern, and design
Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam handpicks the objects in the "Tam Tra Dieu Bao" collection, which dates from the Qing Dynasty to the current day. The collection is not only immense in size, but it also has remarkable artistic value.
Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Tam also gathered Yixing teapots from many countries through huge auctions, which are included in the collection. Because of their tremendous monetary value, not everyone has access to these treasures.
The collection contains teapots and cups from the Qing Dynasty to the present. These are cultural heritages, aesthetic emblems for each dynasty, and exhibit the art qualities of many historical eras.
Mrs.Ngo Thi Thanh Tam expressed her love of tea and teapots in the "Tra Duyen-Tam Tra Dieu Bao" book, edited by her daughter Rystal Su Wan Lin, with the intention of sharing the fateful connection between her life and tea and teapots, as well as the desire to develop and promote Vietnamese tea brands to the world.

Yixing clay teapots, also known as purple clay teapots, are fashioned entirely of clay found in the Yixing region of the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu. During the reign of the Zhengde Emperor, a monk from Jinsha Temple (Golden Sand Temple) in Yixing created an excellent quality teapot out of local clay, according to Ming dynasty scholar Zhou Gaoqi. Such teapots quickly became popular among the scholarly class, and the popularity of Yixing teapots expanded. The air permeability of Yixing teapot is its distinguishing feature. When heated, Yixing clay emits countless air holes, allowing the clay to "breathe" and interact with tea, altering its flavor. The porosity of the Yixing clay is up to 10%, combined with the high iron content further enhances the unique ability of this pot while brewing tea.
