Président is a French dairy brand owned by the Lactalis company,  is a French multinational dairy products corporation, owned by the Besnier family and based in Laval, Mayenne, France.

The brand was created in 1933 by André Besnier who by then was already a leading figure in the French dairy business.

Explaining the name's French context, Besnier explained that "France is the land of presidents, everyone is a president: of a club of fishermen, of bowlers, of veterans".

Branded as “France’s #1 Butter,” Président has a high fat content. It’s a pale-yellow color evocative of a bridesmaid’s gown, yet the flavor has a bit of a salty/peppery edge that makes it a complementary component in savory dishes, as well as a good choice for dinner rolls. 

The other reason: natural lactic ferments are added to the cream before churning, which enhances the natural flavor of butter.
