(worldkings.org) The World Airline Awards - The Oscars Of The Aviation Industry. They voted Qatar Airways the World's Best Airline for a record seventh time in 2022. It was awarded in the 2022 World Airline Awards (which is regarded as the Oscars of the aviation industry). Some 350 airlines around the world were surveyed.

Qatar Airways Company Q.C.S.C. , operating as Qatar Airways, is the state-owned flag carrier airline of Qatar. Headquartered in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha, the airline operates a hub-and-spoke network, flying to over 150 international destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania from its base at Hamad International Airport, using a fleet of more than 200 aircraft. Qatar Airways Group employs more than 43,000 people.

In 2022, Qatar Airways has been voted the World’s Best Airline for a record seventh time at the 2022 World Airline Awards, winning the prestigious Airline of the Year 2022 title.

November 22, 1993 - Qatar Airways was established by the government of Qatar.

June 2003 - A Qatar Airways Airbus A320 was the first aircraft that resumed the international services to Iraq when it flew the Doha–Basra route.

2004 - Qatar Airways was awarded the prestigious Five Star ranking for service excellence, joining a small elite group of airlines.

May 2007 - Qatar Airways and Airbus signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the acquisition of 80 Airbus A350 XWBs, including 20 A350-800s plus 40 and 20 aircraft of the –900 and –1000 variant, respectively, with the first aircraft initially slated for delivery in 2013.

October 12, 2009 - Qatar Airways completed the world's first commercial passenger flight powered by a fuel made from natural gas.

 

 

2010 - Qatar Airways launched flights to 10 new destinations including: Bengaluru (Bangalore), Tokyo, Ankara, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Phuket, Hanoi and Nice

April 2011:

Qatar Airways reached a milestone reaching 100 destinations in its global route map.

Two months later, the airline achieved a remarkable feat, just 14 years after its re-launch, being named Airline of the Year 2011 at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards with over 18 million travellers worldwide casting their votes.

2012 – Qatar Airways became the seventh carrier worldwide to acquire the Dreamliner, when Boeing handed over the airline's first aircraft of the type.

Qatar Airways opened its European Customer Service centre, which is in Wrocław, Poland.

Qatar Airways launched its mobile application for Android, iPhone and Blackberry, offering more convenience for the passengers.

2014  - The airline became the global launch customer of the first Airbus A350.

 

 

June 2015 - Qatar Airways achieved a major accomplishment receiving the Skytrax Airline of the Year 2015 accolade for a third time.

2017 - Qatar Airways operates the longest regularly scheduled airline flight, between Qatar – Doha and New Zealand – Auckland.

2021:

Qatar Airways launched its new Business Class Suite featured on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner passenger aircraft on several key routes to Europe and Asia.

Qatar Airways also offers the largest international network, which currently stands at over 140 destinations, providing unrivaled connectivity to passengers and making it easy for them to change their travel dates or destination if they need to.
