JFC’s segments include Food Service, Franchising, and Leasing. The Food Service segment is involved in the operations of quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and the manufacture of food products to be sold to JFC Group-owned and franchised QSR outlets. The Franchising segment is involved in franchising its QSR store concepts. The Leasing segment leases store sites mainly to the JFC Group’s independent franchisees.
The Company’s subsidiaries and affiliates, which develop and operate its international brands, Yonghe King, Hong Zhuang Yuan, San Pin Wang, are brands under the SuperFoods Group (Highlands Coffee and Pho 24), Sma, and Dunkin' Donuts. Its international branches include the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Brunei, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. As of December 2021, JFC operates more than 5,900 stores worldwide.

- 1975: Tony Tan Caktiong and his family opened a Magnolia Ice Cream parlor in Cubao, Quezon City. Magnolia outlets operated by the Tan Caktiong clan began offering hot meals and sandwiches upon request from the customers which the family found out to be more popular than the franchise's ice cream.
- 1978: The family decided to cancel the Magnolia franchise and converted the ice cream parlors they operated into fast food outlets. The Jollibee Foods Corporation was incorporated in January 1978.
- 1981: Jollibee withstands the entry of McDonald's in the Philippines by focusing on the specific tastes of the Filipino market.
- 1987: Jollibee Group made it to the Philippines’ Top 100 Corporations
- 1993: JFC was listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange. Jollibee Group is cited as one of the leading companies in Asia by the Far Eastern Economic Review
- 1994: Jollibee Group acquired Greenwich Pizza Corporation
- 2000: Jollibee Group acquired Chowking
- 2004: Jollibee Group acquired its first international brand Yonghe King, a restaurant chain in China, to involve to China market
- 2008: Jollibee Group completed its purchase of Hong Zhuang Yuan, a chain of congee restaurants located mostly in Beijing
- 2011: Jollibee Group acquired a majority stake in the Burger King Philippines franchise
