(WorldKings.org) Ajay V. Bhatt (born 6 September 1957) is an Indian-born American computer architect who defined and developed several widely used technologies, including USB. Released in 1996, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Ajay Bhatt as " The person who created the world’s first USB".

Based on the world record nomination from Asia Records Institute (ASRI)  and Decision No. WK/USA.INDIA/702/2021/No.158, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Ajay Bhatt is the person who created the world’s first USB on June 3, 2021.

Ajay V. Bhatt (born 6 September 1957) is an Indian-born American computer architect who defined and developed several widely used technologies, including USB (Universal Serial Bus), AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port), PCI Express, Platform Power Management architecture and various chipset improvements.

After completing his graduation from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India, Bhatt received his master's degree from The City University of New York, United States. Bhatt joined Intel in 1990 as a senior staff architect on the chipset architecture team in Folsom.

He holds one hundred and thirty-two U.S. and international patents, and several others are in various stages of filing. In 1998, 2003 and 2004, Bhatt was nominated to take part in a Distinguished Lecture Series at leading universities in the United States and Asia.

Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard that establishes specifications for cables and connectors and protocols for connection, communication and power supply (interfacing) between computers, peripherals and other computers. A broad variety of USB hardware exists, including several different connectors, of which USB-C is the most recent.

Released in 1996, the USB standard is currently maintained by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). There have been four generations of USB specifications: USB 1.x, USB 2.0, USB 3.x and USB4.
