Based on the world record nomination from the Australia Records Institute (AURI) and Decision No. WK/USA.INDIA/1438/2026/No.893, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Happitat as the world's first adventure cliff park.
Happitat Adventure Park is a newly opened eco-adventure attraction in Australia, located in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. Unlike conventional theme parks, it is designed to blend into the natural landscape rather than reshape it.
The park is described as the world’s first “cliff park” because the entire experience is constructed along a real cliff face rather than on flat ground. Instead of separate rides or attractions, everything is integrated into one continuous route that visitors follow while securely attached to a safety system. This means you are constantly moving through the environment—climbing, crossing, and descending—rather than stopping and starting different activities.
At Happitat, visitors take part in a mix of adventure elements such as via ferrata climbing routes, high-altitude ziplines, suspension bridges, and narrow pathways fixed to the rock. There are also cantilevered viewing platforms that extend out over the valley, offering panoramic views of the rainforest below. These features are designed to create both a physical challenge and a strong sense of immersion in nature, rather than the fast, ride-based thrills of a typical amusement park.
What sets Happitat apart is its focus on eco-adventure tourism. It operates within a protected World Heritage rainforest environment and emphasizes low-impact design, guided experiences, and safety systems that remain in place throughout the journey. The goal is not just adrenaline, but also connection with the landscape and a structured way for visitors to explore a terrain that would otherwise be inaccessible.
