Based on the world record nomination from the Europe Records Institute (EURI) and Decision No. WK/USA.INDIA/1437/2026/No.892, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Stella Juva as the world's first solar-powered ambulance.
Stella Juva is a prototype solar-powered ambulance developed by the student-led Solar Team Eindhoven in the Netherlands. It is widely described as the world’s first ambulance designed to operate entirely on solar energy. Solar panels integrated across the vehicle’s surface generate electricity that powers both the drivetrain and onboard medical systems, allowing it to function without reliance on fossil fuels or external charging infrastructure.

What makes Stella Juva particularly significant is its role as a self-sufficient mobile healthcare unit. The vehicle is engineered to support essential medical equipment—such as monitoring devices and emergency treatment tools—while remaining energy-independent. This design is especially relevant for remote or underserved regions where access to fuel, stable electricity, or conventional ambulances is limited. In such contexts, a solar-powered ambulance could maintain continuous operation with minimal logistical support.
