[WORLDKINGS-PART 2] Top 500 Immutable World Records (P.871) Roboto Origin (China): The world's first-tier full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid robot

05-03-2026

(worldkings.org) Roboto Origin was officially launched and its source code made widely available in January 2026. On March 5, 2026, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Roboto Origin as "the world's first-tier full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid robot”.

Based on the world record nomination from the Asia Records Institute (ASRI) and Decision No. WK/USA.INDIA/1426/2026/No.881, World Records Union (WorldKings) officially declared Roboto Origin as the world’s first-tier full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid robot.

Roboto Origin is a full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid robot developed by the Chinese robotics company RoboParty. It is described as the world’s first “first-tier” full-stack open-source humanoid robot because both its hardware and software systems are publicly released. This means that its mechanical structure, electronic architecture, control algorithms, and development documentation are all accessible for developers, researchers, and engineers to study, modify, and rebuild.

The term “full-stack” in this context refers to the complete integration of mechanical design, embedded systems, motion control, artificial intelligence frameworks, and manufacturing processes. Unlike many humanoid robots where only partial software code is shared, Roboto Origin provides comprehensive design files, bills of materials, source code, and engineering workflows. This level of openness allows universities, startups, and robotics communities to replicate the robot or build improved versions without starting from scratch.

Physically, Roboto Origin stands at approximately 1.25 meters tall and weighs around 34 kilograms. It is capable of stable bipedal walking and dynamic motion, including running at speeds of about 3 meters per second during testing. The robot serves primarily as a technical validation platform rather than a mass-market commercial product. It demonstrates how a humanoid robot can be developed rapidly while maintaining transparency in design and engineering.

The significance of Roboto Origin lies in its potential to lower the barrier to humanoid robotics development. By openly sharing its entire system architecture, RoboParty aims to foster a collaborative ecosystem in which global developers can contribute improvements, experiment with applications, and accelerate innovation in embodied artificial intelligence and robotic mobility.
