After more than a year since receiving the first world record with content “The world’s biggest collection of products of different art forms made of waste tyres” at the 39th Meeting Vietnamese Record Holders on September 9, 2019, Record holder Nguyen Van Phung continued to set another world record with his miniature bonsai trees and penjing landscapes collection at the 41st Meeting of Vietnamese Record Holders.

As a person with skillful hands and great creativity, Record holder Nguyen Van Phung has tinkered and learned how to nurture and shape each bonsai tree in his garden. For him, bonsai is not a temporary pleasure. It is his passion and the place where he can unleash his talent.

Miniature bonsai trees and penjing landscapes are mainly grown from Premna, Phyllanthus Cochinchinensis and Fir tree. The size of the smallest tree is 02 centimeters, and the largest is 25 centimeters. The 5.631 pots of miniature bonsai trees and penjing landscapes were imitated the diverse scenery of Vietnam, such as : Vietnam’s Son Doong cave scene, Tam Coc-Bich Dong scene, the 1968 ruins scene, village gate scene in 1945, scenery of Huong pagoda, Turtle Tower of Sword Lake, etc .

Under the authorization of the World Records Union (WorldKings), the Board of Directions in Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) awarded the World Record with the content: “The owner of the world’s largest collection of miniature bonsai trees and penjing landscapes” to Record holder Nguyen Van Phung.

Dr. Le Doan Hop – Former Minister of the Information and Communications, a member of WorldKings Council and Dr. Thang Van Phuc - Chairman of Vietnam Record Association, a member of WorldKings Council awarded the World Record certificate and trophy to Record holder Nguyen Van Phung.
