Located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is home to exhilarating adventures, delicious, locally sourced food & drink, and some of the most incredible views North Wales has to offer.
At the close of the 19th century, Penrhyn was the largest slate quarry in the world, employing more than 2,800 people and exporting around the globe. More than 100 years later, it is the setting for the world’s fastest zip line, the aptly named Velocity 2.
The world's fastest and Europe's longest zip line, Velocity 2 is Zip World's best-known adventure, featuring four parallel lines that span 1.5 kilometers over the beautiful blue water of Penrhyn Quarry lake. It is the perfect group activity, family, friends or colleagues race each other across the lake.
Participants will be supplied with a flying suit to wear that is wind and showerproof. Helmets and goggles will also be supplied. It is essential to bring warm clothing and a waterproof coat (and ideally waterproof trousers). Footwear must be fitted securely. Walking boots are ideal. Harnesses contain a secure pocket for wallets and small cameras.
The zip-lining experience requires very little physical effort on the part of participants; however, the ability to walk 200 meters on a track, wearing a harness, is necessary. Zip World is able to offer the experience to people with a wide range of disabilities.
