Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve (Poyang Lake Reserve in short) is located in the north of Jiangxi Province.

The reserve is mainly aimed at protecting wild animals, especially rare birds like white cranes, and their winter habitats. Consisting of a large expanse of inland wetlands including ponds, permanent rivers, seasonal lakes, permanent freshwater herb swamps and the like, the reserve has distinct seasons, picturesque scenery and a widespread fame as an ideal tourist resort.

Construction work on the world's longest bamboo walkway is now finished in the eastern Chinese city of Jiujiang. The bridge is located in Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve. It's nearly five kilometers in length and three meters in width and consists of over 66,000 bamboo boards.

 All construction materials are environmentally friendly and waterproof. The walkway makes it safe and convenient for visitors and photographers to watch beautiful birds and other wildlife around the lake. It opened to the public in mid-June.
