WORLDKINGS - Worldkings News - Asia Records Institute (ASRI) Highway 10: World’s longest straight road

13-08-2022

(WorldKings.org) The highway, which stretches from Haradh to Al Batha, is around 256 kilometers and cuts through the Rub Al-Khali desert.

Haradh city is known for oil and natural gas and Al Batha city is a border city to United Arab Empire. The highway is mainly used for transporting goods and passengers traveling from western regions of Saudi Arabia to UAE.

It's a place where drivers definitely wouldn’t want to drive if they're tired or feeling sleepy. It is probable that even the beautiful sand dunes and natural landscape won’t keep they awake here. Highway 10 cuts through the desert with no bends left or right, or any appreciable gradient up or down. The super-straight stretch has an estimated driving time of around 2 hr.

Australia’s Eyre Highway was the previous holder of the record, at approximately 146 kilometers of straight road.
