The market is especially renowned for premium chili varieties such as Guntur Sannam (S4), Teja (S17), and 334, which are exported to numerous countries, including China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Beyond its commercial significance, Guntur is also famous for the Guntur Sannam Chilli, a distinctive variety that received Geographical Indication (GI) status from the Government of India in 2009. Known for its bright red color, intense pungency, and high capsaicin content, Guntur Sannam is widely used in spice blends, chili powder production, food processing, and capsaicin extraction for pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
