17-07-2026

(worldkings.org) On July 5, 2026, MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) recognized the largest straight-line pushbike race by child participants. The record was achieved during the Dragrace Pushbike event, organized by Metland Cikarang in collaboration with AFA, bringing together hundreds of young riders for a unique sporting competition.

The event attracted 436 participants between the ages of 2 and 7, all competing on pushbikes, also known as balance bikes. Designed without pedals, these bicycles enable young children to propel themselves using their feet while developing essential riding skills before transitioning to conventional bicycles.

Pushbike riding is widely valued as an early childhood activity that helps improve balance, motor coordination, and self-confidence. By encouraging children to control speed and direction through body movement, the sport supports the development of fundamental physical abilities in a fun and engaging environment.

The straight-line race format gave participants the opportunity to test their agility and coordination while learning the importance of fair play and healthy competition. Organizers also hoped the event would encourage children to stay active and foster a positive sporting spirit from an early age.

With 436 children aged 2 to 7 taking part, the Dragrace Pushbike event organized by Metland Cikarang and AFA earned official recognition from MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) as the largest straight-line pushbike race by child participants. The achievement highlights both the growing popularity of pushbike racing in Indonesia and the value of introducing sports that promote physical development and confidence during early childhood.
