Long-distance motorcycle expeditions demand endurance, careful planning, and unwavering determination. Demonstrating all three, Shraiyans Mittal, born on October 17, 1986, from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, earned a place in the India Book of Records (IBR) by completing the fastest solo motorcycle journey from India's East Coast to its West Coast.

Mittal began his expedition at 5:45 a.m. on March 30, 2026, departing from Bakkhali in the state of West Bengal on India's eastern coastline. Following the country's coastal roads, he traveled through a series of major destinations, including Digha, Puri, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Puducherry, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, Panjim, Mumbai, Diu, Dwarka, and Gandhidham before reaching Koteshwar, Gujarat, at 6:35 p.m. on April 5, 2026.
According to the official record, the entire coastal route covered 6,616.6 kilometers. Mittal completed the journey in 6 days, 12 hours, and 50 minutes, establishing the fastest solo motorcycle expedition between India's East Coast and West Coast. The achievement highlights not only the distance involved but also the logistical and physical demands of riding continuously across multiple states and diverse landscapes.
Undertaking such an expedition alone requires far more than riding skills. The rider must maintain focus over extended hours, adapt to changing road and weather conditions, and manage fatigue while navigating unfamiliar routes. Mittal successfully completed the entire expedition independently, making his accomplishment a notable feat of endurance and perseverance.
The India Book of Records (IBR) officially confirmed the record on May 14, 2026. Beyond setting a new benchmark for speed, Mittal's journey showcases the spirit of adventure and determination that defines long-distance motorcycle travel. Covering thousands of kilometers from one coast of India to the other, his expedition stands as an inspiring example of what can be achieved through careful preparation, resilience, and an unwavering passion for exploration.
