Ayaan Garg has achieved a notable endurance milestone by completing thousands of weighted pull-ups over an extended period. According to the India Book of Records (IBR), Garg, born on July 23, 2009, from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, performed 2,501 weighted pull-ups on a pull-up bar over 18 hours and 25 minutes. The record was confirmed on July 11, 2026.

The defining feature of the achievement was the additional load carried throughout the attempt. Garg performed the pull-ups while wearing a weighted vest weighing 5 kg. The recorded duration included multiple breaks, meaning the achievement was based on sustaining the challenge across a prolonged period rather than completing all 2,501 repetitions continuously without interruption.
Garg was 16 years, 11 months and 18 days old when the record was confirmed. His total of 2,501 repetitions over 18 hours and 25 minutes works out to an overall average of approximately 2.27 pull-ups per minute when the entire recorded period, including breaks, is considered. This calculation is only an average based on the total repetitions and total duration and does not represent the pace of individual sets.
Pull-ups are a demanding bodyweight exercise that engages several major muscle groups, including the back, shoulders, arms and core. Adding a 5 kg weighted vest increases the external load involved in each repetition, making the sustained performance particularly demanding from a strength and endurance perspective.
The sheer duration of the attempt is therefore central to Garg’s record. Completing 2,501 weighted pull-ups across 18 hours and 25 minutes required him to maintain the effort over a period approaching a full day, while managing multiple breaks along the way. The India Book of Records officially confirmed the achievement on July 11, 2026, marking a distinctive endurance record in the teen weighted pull-up category.
