A large-scale robotics education event in Chennai brought together 1,257 students to build functional robotic models at a single venue. Organized by KASH ROBOTICS in collaboration with VR, Chennai, the initiative was recognized by the India Book of Records (IBR) on July 26, 2026, for bringing together the maximum number of students to build functional robotic models at one location.

The scale of participation was the defining feature of the achievement. A total of 1,257 students took part in the robotics assembly activity, which was conducted across 6–7 batches. Bringing such a large number of students together for a practical robotics project created a distinctive large-scale learning environment centered on technology and hands-on construction.

The event was designed not only as a record-setting initiative but also as a platform for promoting STEM education, practical learning, innovation and teamwork. Rather than approaching robotics solely through theoretical lessons, the students were directly involved in assembling functional robotic models, allowing them to explore technology through practical experience.

The construction process also gave participants an opportunity to apply concepts from science, technology, engineering and mathematics to a tangible project. Working in groups encouraged students to coordinate tasks, exchange ideas and address practical challenges during the assembly process.

Another important objective of the initiative was to inspire young minds to explore robotics and technology. Building a functional model provides students with a tangible way to understand how technical concepts can be translated into a working creation. This approach can also encourage curiosity, creativity and a greater interest in technological fields.

The event additionally sought to establish a record for the largest student robot assembly event conducted in a single day. With 1,257 students participating across 6–7 batches at one venue, the programme represented a substantial coordinated effort focused on student robotics and practical STEM learning.
