This record was set on March 8, 2026, in Tangerang and organized by PT Sasa Inti during the Sasa Oporasi Lebaran Food Festival.
Opor ayam is a well-known traditional Indonesian dish, especially associated with the Eid al-Fitr (Lebaran) celebration. It consists of chicken cooked in coconut milk with a blend of spices such as lemongrass, galangal, garlic, and coriander, resulting in a rich yet mild flavor.
Preparing and serving 1,447 portions simultaneously required careful planning and coordination. From ingredient preparation and large-scale cooking to portioning and distribution, every step had to be executed efficiently to meet the exact number verified by MURI.
Beyond the numerical achievement, this record also highlights the cultural importance of opor ayam. As a dish commonly enjoyed during festive gatherings, presenting it on such a scale helps promote Indonesia’s culinary heritage and reinforces its relevance in modern community events.
